Sealing Ventilation Ducts with AEROSEALĀ®

Fixing Air Leaks Without Demolition Work

Ventilation ducts that are not airtight cause unnoticed air leakage and, consequently, a loss of efficiency. This is common in older installations or in systems that have been modified or expanded multiple times. Even small leaks canhave a significant impact on energy consumption and air distribution.

With AEROSEAL, AQ International seals these leaks from the inside in a smart and efficient way, without the need for extensive demolition work. This allows us to achieve airtightness class D in existing ventilation ducts: the highest achievable standard for optimal efficiency.

What is AEROSEALĀ® and why should you use it?

AeroSealen is a technique in which a atomized sealing molecule is blown into the ventilation ducts. Due to the air pressure in the system, the molecule moves toward the leaks in the duct. There, it adheres to the edges of the opening until it is completely sealed. This method significantly reduces air leakage, often by up to 90% compared to before.

No demolition or replacement required

The system is sealed from the inside. There is no need to cut into or break through walls or ceilings, which prevents construction costs and disruption.

Perfect for renovations and older buildings where ducts are hard to reach or hidden behind structures.

Minimale stilstand van uw gebouw en direct bewijs van de afdichting via een nauwkeurige voor- en nameting.

Up to 90% less air loss means that fans don’t have to run as fast, which directly reduces energy bills and COā‚‚ emissions.

Fresh air finally reaches even the farthest corners, ensuring an optimal and consistent indoor climate throughout the building.

When is AEROSEALĀ® the best choice?

AeroSealen is the ideal solution when you want to restore the airtightness
of your ductwork without major renovations
.
It is ideal for:

  • Systems with Unexplained Losses in Efficiency

When energy consumption rises without any immediately apparent cause.
  • Air distribution that is unevenly distributed throughout the building

Wanneer bepaalde ruimtes in het gebouw te weinig verse of geconditioneerde lucht krijgen.
  • Leaks in ducts that are difficult to access

In the event of leaks in ducts, shafts, or built-in duct networks.
  • Projects where replacement is not possible due to structural limitations

Where it is physically or financially impossible to replace existing channels.

How do we go about this?

AeroSealen is a forward-looking solution for reducing air leakage, improving the efficiency of ventilation systems, and saving energy—without the need for structural modifications.

  • Inspection & Airtightness Test
  • We assess the current situation and measure the exact amount of air leakage.
  • Preparation and Disconnection
  • The system is being prepared for the AeroSeal treatment. All openings are temporarily sealed.
  • Application of the AeroSeal molecule
  • The sealing molecule is atomized into the system and actively seeks out the leaks.
  • Afterward, we’ll conduct a new airtightness test and provide a clear report.

What is the impact on your Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)?

At AQ International, we don’t focus solely on power consumption. We evaluate the complete financial picture of your HVAC system: the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). In doing so, we also take into account periodic maintenance, operational continuity, and the system’s maximum service life.

  • Significantly longer service life: The total period during which the system operates optimally is greatly extended.
  • Prevention of corrosion and deposits: Provides a barrier against corrosive agents and contaminants, which helps prevent malfunctions and unplanned downtime.
  • Maximum thermal efficiency: Ensures consistent, high-quality heat exchange, preventing any decline in energy performance.

Airtightness Class D in existing ventilation ducts

Ventilation ducts that are not airtight cause unnoticed air leakage and, consequently, a loss of efficiency. This is common in older installations or in systems that have been modified multiple times. Even small leaks have a significant impact on energy consumption and air distribution.

Using AEROSEAL, AQ International seals these leaks from the inside, without any demolition work. This allows us to achieve airtightness class D in existing ducts. Afterward, you will receive an official measurement report detailing the exact reduction in air leakage and the achieved airtightness class as proof.
